09/18/2008 - Seattle, WA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Seattle Mariners third baseman Adrian Beltre underwent a pair of successful surgeries Thursday in Seattle.
Beltre had arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder to remove bone spurs and had reconstruction of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb. A rehabilitation timeline of approximately three-to-four months is expected.
Seattle Mariners Medical Director Dr. Edward Khalfayan performed the shoulder surgery, and Dr. Carlton Keck and Dr. Khalfayan performed the thumb surgery. Both surgeries were performed this morning at the Seattle Surgery Center.
Beltre, 29, finished the season batting .266 with 25 home runs and 77 RBI in 143 games.
In 11 MLB seasons with the Mariners and Dodgers, Beltre has a .271 average with 242 home runs and 862 RBI in 1,570 games.

In his first game as the new starting guard this past Sunday, Foye had 10 points; five rebounds and 8 assists. More importantly, he logged 34 minutes of playing time; his third highest run of the season.
Adam Morrison, of the Charlotte Bobcats, was the favorite early on in the season after averaging 15+ PPG through the first month of the season. Ever since his torrid start, Morrison’s point production has declined each month. This really isn’t surprising, considering at 6’8” he only weighs 205 lbs. Obviously he will need to hit the weights big time during the off-season in order to keep from breaking down in the future.
