05/09/2008 - Seattle, WA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Ramon Vazquez finished 4-for-5 and Ian Kinsler hit a two-run homer, as the Texas Rangers blanked the Seattle Mariners, 5-0, in the finale of a four-game series from Safeco Field.
Kason Gabbard, activated from the 15-day disabled list before the game, gave up two hits with four walks and one strikeout over 3 2/3 scoreless innings before leaving with bruised legs sustained in a benches-clearing fracas.
Franklyn German (1-0) allowed one hit and struck out three in 1 2/3 innings for Texas, which has won three straight and seven of its last nine outings.
Brandon Boggs went 2-for-3 with a run batted in.
Felix Hernandez (2-3) gave up four runs on six hits with five strikeouts and three walks over five innings for the struggling Mariners, losers of three straight and eight of their last nine.
Jose Lopez doubled for Seattle, which was limited to four hits and extended its scoreless streak to 22 innings.
Texas raced out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A single by Vazquez and walks to Josh Hamilton and Milton Bradley loaded the bases for David Murphy, who put Texas on the board with a sacrifice fly. Boggs then ripped a run- scoring single to right field.
The Rangers then added two more runs in the second, when Kinsler clubbed his third home run of the season.
In the fourth, frustrations boiled over for Richie Sexson and the Mariners. With two outs in the inning, Gabbard came up and in with a fastball that caused Sexson to charge the mound and fling his helmet at the Texas hurler. Both benches cleared, though, no punches were thrown. Hernandez had drilled Kinsler with a fastball in the previous frame.
Sexson was the only player to be ejected from the fracas and was replaced by Miguel Cairo. Gabbard remained in the game and issued a walk to Cairo. Yuniesky Betancourt then reached on an infield single and both runners moved into scoring position on Vazquez's throwing error.
Gabbard was then taken out of the game due to bruised legs. German took over on the mound and induced an inning-ending ground out from Wladimir Balentien.
The Rangers added a run in the sixth on Vazquez's RBI single.
After Lopez doubled to leadoff the bottom of the sixth, the Rangers pitchers retired the next 11 batters before Cairo's infield single in the ninth.

Brandon Roy Favorite to Win 2007 NBA Rookie of the Year
Portland TrailBlazer’s guard, Brandon Roy, is MySportsbook.com’s overwhelming favorite to win the NBA Rookie of the Year odds.
Despite missing 20 games due to an injury earlier this season, Roy has definitely put up the best numbers of his 1st year peers. In 32 games, Roy is averaging 15.3 PPG, 4.2 boards and 3.5 assists in over 33 minutes of play per game. While most rookies breakdown as the season progresses (see Morrison), Roy is only getting stronger as his playing time and scoring average has increased each month.
With 30 or so games left in the regular season, Roy isn’t a lock for the award by any means. Other rookies are putting together some pretty impressive campaigns and a few could give Roy a run for the award with increased playing time. Heading the list is first pick, Andrea Bargnani of the Toronto Raptors. Even though he has started only two games all season, Bargnani is averaging 10.3 PPPG while shooting 35% from deep.
Randy Foye of the Minnesota Timberwolves could be set to give Roy the best competition NBA Rookie of the Year betting lines. With the benching of Mike James, Foye looks like he could be the starter in the T-Wolves backcourt for the rest of the season. So far, Foye has averaged 9 PPG and 2.4 assists in just under 21 minutes per game. With his new role of starter, Foye’s numbers will definitely increase. In his first game as the new starting guard this past Sunday, Foye had 10 points; five rebounds and 8 assists. More importantly, he logged 34 minutes of playing time; his third highest run of the season.
Adam Morrison, of the Charlotte Bobcats, was the favorite early on in the season after averaging 15+ PPG through the first month of the season. Ever since his torrid start, Morrison’s point production has declined each month. This really isn’t surprising, considering at 6’8” he only weighs 205 lbs. Obviously he will need to hit the weights big time during the off-season in order to keep from breaking down in the future.

New York, NY – October 3, 2007 – The dress rehearsal is over! The NHL preseason has ended and now that fans have had a glimpse of what is to come it is time to hit the book! Stanley Cup odds are live at MySportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino.
The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings remain on top of the odds charts after an impressive start in the preseason. Betting lines opened for both teams at 6-1 in June. Since then the Sens have fallen to 7-1 and the Red Wings are now caught in a pack including the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks, all at 10-1.
MySportsbook.com has also posted props on each team’s point total for the regular season. The Senators lead the charge at 108.5 followed by the Ducks at 106.5. Detroit will attempt a repeat for the prize as the Red Wings are deadlocked with the Predators at 104.5 a piece. The temporary loss of highly touted rookie Evgeni Malkin puts a lot of pressure on the stick of assistant captain Sidney Crosby - his lowly Pittsburgh Penguins are listed at 71.5.
Even if bettors are not brave enough to put their money on the underdog, an early bet on the favorites at sportsbook.com tends to produce bigger payouts than a mid-season wager. Placing a $1,000 bet last summer on the Detroit Red Wings or Ottawa Senators would have paid out to $8,000 and $10,000 respectively, opposed to a $2,500 or $3,000 payout at the beginning of the playoffs.
