Rangers activate Gabbard from DL

Gabbard was placed on the disabled list on April 24 with back stiffness. He is 1-0 with a 2.18 earned run average in four starts this season.

The club also activated infielder Travis Metcalf from the 15-day disabled list, optioned pitcher A.J. Murray to Triple-A Oklahoma and designated first baseman Ben Broussard for assignment.
